Has anyone noticed that Rachel Ray does NOT clean her meat before cooking it?
I have been watching 30 minute meals and Rachel Ray, the chef, cooks meat on her show. I have noticed that she literally gets her meat right out of the package into the skillet/pan/etc. She doesn’t clean it! Shouldn’t she be cleaning it? Has anyone else noticed this?
The packaages look store bough and have the barcode sticker and everything
ohhhh i didnt know that…hehe=)

I noticed, but then again I realized that her packages are not packages… they are plates with saran wrap… the prep cooks probably set it up like that and washed them. It would waste valuable time for the show if she were preping the meat.

“clean” it like remove the fat? Well, that would be good if you’re health-consious, which I don’t think rachel ray is.
“clean” it like wash it under the water? Why would you do that? You don’t do that. Who washes their meat?

they probably clean it first then repackage it
I also noticed she doesn’t wash her hands properly after she touches raw chicken, eggshells etc, gotta love salmonella eh?

Who the hell cleans their meat?
That just seems stupid.
Since you are going to heat it to a temperature to kill any potential bacteria anyways.

everything she uses is repackaged and prepped prior to shows
that why it takes us all longer then 30 min to recreate her recipes

how do u clean meat?!?!
u dont need to wash meat because when u cook it the heat kills all the bacteria and other diseases in it
plus u have to remember this is a TV show and the food shes making isnt going to be served like it would in a restraunt

It’s all a choice really, on whether you wash it or not. I know people who do, but I find it a waste of time.
The only thing I wash is a whole bird. And that’s only to rinse out the inside.
