She made new york stip steak and put it on a slice of bread with some sauteed onions and other things on top. She also made a side of Kale Kail (not sure the spelling). Something green that cooked down in water. If you could find that recipe from that episode it would be greatly appreciated.

I have been watching 30 minute meals and Rachel Ray, the chef, cooks meat on her show. I have noticed that she literally gets her meat right out of the package into the skillet/pan/etc. She doesn’t clean it! Shouldn’t she be cleaning it? Has anyone else noticed this?

Rachel Ray is a television personality who hosts cookery shows- 30 minute meals, Rachel Ray’s tasty travels. She gives us simple recipes which can be prepared in 30 minutes or less. In her recipes, she uses garlic and chicken stock to enhance flavors and also uses fresh herbs wherever necessary. Like many celebrity chefs, Rachel has also come up with her own Rachel Ray knives, cookware and utensils.
Rachel Ray knives are known to be the newest addition to her cutlery. Rachel used a santoku knife in her early days of her series. The knives she currently uses are manufactured by Furi and have tempered stainless steel blades and a Gusto Grip handle. She has named them so. The handle is covered with an injection molded synthetic rubber finish and is structured to prevent from slipping away from the hand. The knife case is orange in color where the knives can be stored. Each set has three knives- a 6 inch serrated utility knife, 5 inch east/west knife and a 3.5 inch paring knife.
The east/west knife is a short knife which can be used to chop vegetables and herbs and slice meat. This is the most commonly used knife in her shows. The rubberized mold gives complete grip and you can do your chopping with more ease. The blade also has dimples along the slides to prevent food from sticking to the blade.
A good way to take care of your knives is to sharpen them several times in a year. If you hold up the knife against light and there is no reflection of light then you have a nice new edge to your knife. You should also store the knives in a clean dry place preferably in a block. Rachel Ray knives can turn anybody into a super chef. The knives that she uses are also quick and easy to sharpen. They can be cleaned and rinsed with warm soap water and wiped with a soft cloth or paper towel. It is advisable to use the knife for what it was designed or you could damage the piece.
