Rachel Domenica Ray was born in New York, on August 25 in 1968. She is a television personality who hosts many talk shows and a Food Network series called 30 minute meals and Rachel Ray’s tasty travels. Her first job was at a candy store. She later moved to the New York City market. She then worked in a gourmet market which helped her to develop an identity for herself as Rachel Ray chef. Her concept of 30 minute meals show cropped up from the experience she got working at this store.
Rachel Ray chef shows how to prepare simple recipes with preparation/cooking time in 30 minutes or less. Her maternal grandparents are said to have made a large influence on her cooking. Her use of garlic and chicken stock enhances the flavor. She also makes use of fresh herbs wherever possible. She does not believe in the measuring concept which she feels takes the creativity away. She believes in using ingredients approximately like a hand full or a palmful. In her television programs she has coined many catch phrases like EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), stoup (cross of soup and stew), “How good is that?” etc.
